THE SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION (“the Commission”) is a statutory body established under the Securities Act, Cap. 354 of the Laws of Zambia (repealed) and whose existence is continued under the Securities Act No. 41 of 2016 (the “Securities Act”). The Commission has a statutory mandate of investor protection and capital markets development in Zambia.
Section 11 (4) of the Securities Act empowers the Commission to suspend the licence of a licensed person who fails to comply with an order or directive of the Commission made in accordance with the Securities Act.
In the exercise of the powers vested in the Commission aforesaid, the Commission hereby notifies the public of the suspension of Mr Simon Kalunga Mpasa’s Investment Adviser’s license for a period of six (6) months from the date of publication of this notice.
