Employee Share Ownership Plans

Schemes such as Employee Share Option plans (ESOP’s) and other similar schemes offered to employee of Zambian listed companies need to be authorized by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The request for authorization is made to the Commission by submitting the following documents:

Application letter for approval of Employee Share Option Plans
Certified resolution establishing the Employee Share Option Plan/Scheme
Terms and conditions under which to the shares /options are granted to employees under the Employee Share Option Plans or similar schemes.
Prescribed Fees.

Foreign domiciled Employee Share Option Plans offered or to be granted to Zambian employees must also be authorized by the Commission and met the same requirements as a local domiciled ESOP
