The Directorate of Corporate Services is the backbone of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), providing essential support functions that enable all other directorates to operate efficiently and effectively. Led by the Director – Corporate Services, this directorate is responsible for managing the Commission’s most valuable assets: its people, its infrastructure, and its operational systems.

Mandate

The primary mandate of the Directorate of Corporate Services is to oversee the provision of human resource, administrative, and logistical support services to facilitate the efficient and effective operations of the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Functions

The Directorate of Corporate Services executes its mandate through the following key functions:

  • Overseeing all aspects of human resource management, including recruitment, onboarding, talent management, and performance appraisal, to ensure a skilled and motivated workforce.
  • Developing and implementing comprehensive human resource development programs, including training, capacity building, and career progression initiatives, to enhance staff capabilities and foster professional growth.
  • Managing staff welfare and wellness programs to promote employee well-being and a positive work environment.
  • Overseeing industrial relations to maintain harmony and address employee concerns effectively.
  • Providing efficient administrative and logistical support, including office management, procurement, fleet management, and facilities maintenance, to ensure seamless daily operations.
  • Ensuring the effective interpretation and compliance with the Commission's Terms and Conditions of Service.
  • Overseeing the provision and maintenance of robust ICT infrastructure and services, ensuring reliable network connectivity, data security, and efficient communication systems crucial for modern regulatory operations.
  • Overseeing the institutionalization of Integrity Committee activities to promote ethical conduct, transparency, and awareness on the dangers and effects of corruption within the Commission.
  • Developing and implementing change management programs to facilitate organizational adaptation, improve productivity, and ensure successful transitions during strategic initiatives.
  • Developing and maintaining the departmental risk register, identifying potential operational risks, and implementing mitigation strategies to minimize impact and ensure business continuity.
  • Overseeing the development of departmental work plans and the implementation of robust performance management systems to monitor, evaluate, and enhance individual and team performance aligned with the Commission's strategic objectives.
  • Effectively managing human, financial, and other allocated resources within the directorate to ensure optimal utilization and the attainment of set objectives.
